Free.Get all the latest Pasadena news, more than 10 fresh stories daily, 7 days a week at 7 a.m. 10 recommended0 commentsShareShareTweetSharePin it Business News Sacramento-based Dos Coyotes Border Café, a fast casual restaurant serving Southwestern cuisine, plans to open a restaurant in Pasadena next year, marking another step forward in the company’s franchising efforts.The Pasadena store will be one of four new California locations envisioned for 2016 and will be owned by franchisees Andy Gitipityapon and Toufic Hemaidan, according to a report by the Sacramento Business Journal.No specific store location within the city has yet been named.Confirmation of the new stores for 2016 comes as the eatery plans to celebrate its 25th anniversary on January 5.Currently, Dos Coyotes has eight restaurants in the Sacramento area. Another Sacramento location will open on Sunrise Boulevard in Citrus Heights, just north of Madison Avenue. Bobby Coyote, who founded Dos Coyotes, will own and operate that location. Coyote confirmed plans for a Citrus Heights location earlier this year, and said it would be in a shopping center that includes Nation’s Giant Hamburgers in Sunrise Marketplace.Dos Coyotes expects to open three more locations in the new year. Aside from the Pasadena branch, one each will be set up in Concord and in Turlock. The Concord store is a joint-venture franchise that will be owned by Coyote and Bay Area entrepreneurs Jason Wolenik and Mike Topf. The entrepreneurs hope to eventually open other Bay Area locations.Ray Hussein will own the Turlock store.In 2014, Coyote announced plans to begin franchising. At the time, he cited an effort to develop 25 locations in Los Angeles County within the next seven or eight years.Dos Coyotes currently has eight restaurants in the Sacramento area.
