TRIANGLE, N.Y. (WBNG) — State Police say one person has died in a crash involving two motorcycles and a third vehicle yesterday. Yesterday, State Police responded to a call of a fatal crash on the 3900 block of State Highway 206 in the town of Triangle at approx. 5:33 p.m. Upon investigation, police say a driver traveling westbound on State Highway 206 was passing two other vehicles when the vehicle collided with two oncoming motorcycles traveling eastbound. The second motorcycle operator, Shane Poklemba, age 49, was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the motorcycle operators was able to swerve and lay his bike down and was taken to Wilson Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. He has since been released. The third vehicle’s operator and two children in the vehicle were not injured. New York State Police said the investigation is on-going. Police of the State Collision Reconstruction Unit were assisted at the scene by Broome Ambulance, Broome County Sheriff’s, Triangle Fire Company, and the Department of Transportation. Police say they do not believe alcohol to be a factor in the incident.
