Saqib Saleem on working with Ranveer Singh in 83: I was not intimidated but amazed at his process

first_imgAfter a debacle like Race 3, Saqib Saleem is ready to return to the big screen with Kabir Khan’s 83. The actor has stepped into the shoes of all-rounder Mohinder Amarnath in a film that’s based on India’s historic victory at 1983 World Cup at Lord’s Stadium. While Saqib will play Mohinder Amarnath in 83, Ranveer Singh will essay the role of Kapil Dev.Talking about working with Ranveer Singh for the first time, Saqib told ZoomTV.com, “It is an absolute delight to work with Ranveer. He is a thorough professional and at the same time, he is such a cool guy. Everybody likes hanging out with him; he has a very good sense of humour, so he has us in splits majority of the time.”When asked if he felt intimidated by Ranveer’s presence, Mere Dad Ki Maruti actor said, “I was not intimidated by him but was really amazed at his process. He does his job really well but at the same time, keeps the mood of the set jovial and fun.”Earlier, Saqib had shared pictures of him training with Mohinder Amarnath for his role.Talking about his preparation for the role, Saqib said, “We have tried to get Jimmy Sir’s mannerisms, body language and have also brushed up our Punjabi language skills for the role.
