Walker, who gained fame on the hit show, Good Times and Winslow, who starred in the Police Academy films, teamed up a couple of years ago for a comedy special We Are Still Here, and now they are bringing their exciting routine to Pompano Beach on Saturday, February 21 at 8 pm.Jimmie Walker will also participate in a special interactive event, Live On The Set, on Friday, February 20 to explore the legacy of Black television.“We are honored to bring these comedy legends to Pompano Beach,” said Phyllis Korab, Cultural Affairs Director. “They called their TV special ‘one for the ages,’ and we cannot wait for them to bring down the house with their iconic brand of comedy! His catchphrase “Dyn-o-mite!” is part of the modern vernacular, and he became such a major celebrity in the 1970s that Time magazine named him “Comedian of the Decade.”Michael Leslie Winslow is an American actor, beat boxer, and comedian billed as the “Man of 10,000 Sound Effects” for his ability to make realistic sounds using only his voice. He is best known for his roles in all seven Police Academy films as Larvell Jones. Top Jamaican Producer Bobby Digital Has Died

first_imgAs the Jamaican music fraternity is awakened by the news, tributes have begun rolling in for the great producer. Top reggae and dancehall producer, Robert “Bobby Digital” Dixon has died. The producer succumbed to a kidney-related illness yesterday. He was 59. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, he was the producer for works by Shabba Ranks, Cocoa Tea, Super Cat and Garnett Silk. He explored styles such as dancehall, lovers rock and roots reggae. He also formed his own sound system, Heatwave and later established his own record label, Digital B Records. In the late 1990s, he began to work with artists such as Morgan Heritage, Sizzla, Anthony B and Richie Spice. He was the producer of Sizzla’s Black Woman and Child album of the late 1990s and Morgan Heritage’s Protect Us, Jah. Hit songs produced by Bobby Digital include Buju Banton’s Till I’m Laid To Rest, Cocoa Tea’s Moving On, Sizzla’s Thank You Mama, among many others.
